Phytochemical and pharmacological activity of Tiliacora triandra (Colebr.) Diels

Tiliacora triandra (Colebr.) Diels is an Scissors indigenous plant in Southeast Asia belongs to the family of Menispermaceae.It has been widely used for cuisine and medicinal purposes since long time.Many studies have investigated and reported of its chemical constituents and pharmacological activities, however these data are scattered.

Therefore, this article aims to review on its traditional uses, phytochemicals and pharmacological properties.Traditionally, this plant has been used for treatment of various diseases such as fever, Tank Tops Camis diabetic, hypertension, and gastrointestinal diseases.Many alkaloids, phenolic compounds, fatty acids, and essential oils were found in different plant parts.Numerous pharmacological studies have been reported supporting those traditional uses such as antioxidant, neuroprotective, antidiabetic, antiplasmodial, antipyretic and anti-inflammatory, anticancer, and antimicrobial activities.

Accordingly, this valuable plant seems to have a potential to develop as a functional food and new drugs in the future.
